A question I have heard and thought many times when we read:
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Who would want them? When we consider the state of the world sometimes all we want to do is get away from this mess. Why would we want to inherit a dump? There are days when I just look at the mess, the death and the wreckage and throw my hands up and want to leave this whole unhappy mess. So why would we want to inherit the post-Revelation plagued Superfund site, after things have gone from bad to very much worse? We will:
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
And the “heathen” will want us to as well:
And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable. When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
Because, as sons, those that are faithful in obedience to the Holy Spirit will have the answers:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
The Father’s sons are designed to fix Superfund sites, in so doing they will bring Him glory. When that generation (the 42nd) comes to declare Him they will finish the 7 year ministry that Jesus Christ started:
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
They will finish the redemption that Jesus started, that includes all of the people and all the whole world (by the Holy Spirit). All of those divisions are going to removed, all of the man-made spite fences that crisscross the root of Jesus Christ are going to be removed, all the boundaries erased as Christ becomes all, in all His people. All of that vanity is going to be consumed in His presence.
A closer look at Romans 8 further reveals the plan of God. This place and all of the people in it have been subjected to vanity for this very purpose. It was allowed to become a mess, precisely so that God could reveal His sons in the redemption of it:
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
We’re going to remove the curse that came on the account of Adam, finishing the work that Christ began on the Cross.
We find another example of this from the life of Jesus (the creation being made subject to vanity):
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
The man was born blind to show forth the working of God. Through the sons ALL of creation is going to get this same answer as God is glorified IN HIS people:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
A perfect temple in which He can dwell and be admired in, a perfect body which He will head:
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
The curse is reversible, their is no terrible thing that is done here that cannot be reversed or overcome by Him.
Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
The song below is by Steven Curtis Chapman, if anyone knows that the above is true it is a man such as this:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
